In collaboration with the World Scouting, GEMS Education and global technology company, SAP, the Emirates Scout Association have held a live "Learn to Code" workshop at the SAP House at Expo 2020 Dubai recently, as part of the World Scouting Camp activities codenamed JOTA-JOTI, the largest internet-based event followed by more than 3 million people. The event addressed scouts from the whole world, in addition to more than 150 scouts from the Emirates who joined through Zoom, and more than 1,000 young thinkers from of 172 countries around the world.  

The workshop was held in the presence of His Excellency Maher Nasser – Commissioner-General of the United Nations at Expo 2020, His Excellency Dr. Salem Abdul Rahman Al Darmaki – Chairman of the Emirates Scout Association, His Excellency Khalil Rahma – Secretary General of the Emirates Scout Association, Wissam Kadi, Director of Global Initiatives at SAP Next Gen, and Deirdre O’Reilly, Head of EXPO 2020 at SAP, Ahmad Alhendawi, Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, and Dr. Katharina Schafer, Global Head of University Alliances at SAP joined the event virtually.
