Ajman Digital Government, Municipality and Planning Department, Tourism Development Department, Department of Finance, Ajman Public Transport Corporation, Ajman Police Headquarters and Department of Economic Development have signed cooperation agreements with Smart Dubai to launch the “UAEPASS” Digital Identity Project.
The agreements were signed on Monday, on the sidelines of GITEX Technology Week, in the presence of H.E Hamad Obaid Al Mansouri, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), Dr. Aisha Bint Butti Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai, and the Director Generals of the participating departments of Ajman Government and Wissam Lootah CEO, Smart Dubai.
H.E. Ohoud Al Shehail, Director General of Ajman Digital Government, pointed out that the inclusion of a number of entities from the Ajman government to the National Digital Identity project “UAEPASS” meets the aspirations of our wise leadership. This is a vital step in the digital transformation undertaken by the Emirates of Ajman, the development of this system will enhance the services and ease the process of communication between the local and federal government bodies. This will also remedy the lack of trust in digital services by instilling security amongst the users.
She added: “Today we are signing this agreement with our partners as part of the national digital transformation process and we are confident that this cooperation will have a great impact on enriching the customer experience.” She also pointed out Ajman’s intention to link more government and private entities to the UAE digital identity system for a unified future.
H.E Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), said: “The Digital Identity launched by the TRA in partnership with Abu Dhabi Digital Authority and Smart Dubai is one of the most important initiatives to benefit citizens, residents and visitors. Users will get the best and fastest service everywhere and around the clock"
He added: "The previous session of GITEX Technology Week witnessed the launch of the Digital Identity Initiative, so that the pace of work will accelerate thereafter and evolve. In the recent past, banks operating in the UAE have been linked to digital identity. The aim is a seamless and easy customer experience whilst achieving full digital transformation, in line with the guidance of our wise leadership. It realizes the UAE Vision 2021 and the Goals of the National Agenda.

Wissam Lootah stressed that Smart Dubai is committed to implementing the vision of our wise leadership to build smart cities ready for the future, by working together with government agencies across the country. He pointed out that the digital identity project has achieved tremendous expansion, providing the first digital identity service in the country to citizens, residents and visitors alike. It gives them access to local and federal government services, along with the services of the private sector all through a single smart application. The adoption of “UAEPASS” National Digital Identity by UAE Central Bank to conduct all banking transactions by banks across the country, is an important achievement in putting the platform as a national project and encourages us to achieve more goals.
The Government of Ajman is participating in the 39th GITEX Technology Week, which is being held at the Dubai World Trade Center from 6 -10 October, wherein 12 government entities from Ajman are showcasing their digital services and innovative projects for customers and visitors.
