Continuing to play a key role in educating, guiding and supporting new entrepreneurs across the emirate, the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Center (Sheraa) and Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)
to further develop the entrepreneurship ecosystem.

The MoU, signed by H.E Najla Al-Midfa, CEO of Sheraa, and H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the SCCI, highlights the synergies between both parties and their mutual intent to put Sharjah on the map, as a leading and vibrant hub for entrepreneurship. The signing took place on the sidelines of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SharjahEF), one of the largest entrepreneurship festivals in the UAE and a landmark entrepreneurial event in Sharjah.

H.E Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), said, "Signing this Memorandum of Understanding with Sheraa is part of SCCI’s goal to expand its network of partnerships; providing the best facilities and incentives for its member entrepreneurs. This step comes in line with SCCI’s role in supporting the entrepreneurship sector, which is a priority in many of SCCI’s strategic initiatives aimed at contributing to the consolidation of Sharjah’s position as an ideal center for entrepreneurship in the region.

Al Owais praised Sheraa’s effective role in supporting the SMEs in the Emirate of Sharjah, developing the entrepreneurship sector, creating an incubator environment, and serving the entrepreneurs through training, financing and providing the necessary qualifications. Al Owais also commended Sheraa’s efforts to enhance the entrepreneurs’ successes and achievements and to increase the effectiveness of their institutions in the economic scene, particularly their contribution to Sharjah’s GDP. HE pointed out that SCCI is committed to implementing the provisions of the MoU in order to ensure the maximum benefit to the entrepreneurs of the emirate.

The strategic alliance serves as a platform, providing SCCI members admittance to Sheraa’s programs and events, while Sheraa supported startups will gain access to the services provided by the Chamber.

Najla Al-Midfa, CEO of Sheraa, said, “For over 40 years, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce has been a key player in fostering entrepreneurship. This collaboration is therefore a natural next step for Sheraa, as it helps us achieve our shared vision of creating a vibrant entrepreneurship ecosystem, providing entrepreneurs with the resources they need to succeed.”
