Bee’ah, the Middle East’s sustainability pioneer, and Evoteq, the region’s premier technology management partner, participated at the Future Blockchain Summit 2019, held by Smart Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Center. As part of their presence, the two entities demonstrated their commitment to consolidating the bonds between sustainability and digitalisation to build a modern economy in the UAE.
In an innovative replication of the ‘City of the Future,’ Bee’ah and Evoteq powered 2 of the exclusive experience hubs created at the event, where users can learn about the digitalization solutions and capabilities of Evoteq, or join Bee’ah to learn about sustainability and recycling, to earn tokens that could purchase goods at the event. The activities were developed with the understanding that blockchain could incentivize individuals, companies and governments to unlock financial value from things that are currently wasted, discarded or treated as economically invaluable, fuelling widespread behaviour change. Commenting on the occasion, His Excellency Khaled Al Huraimel, Group CEO of Bee’ah, and CEO of Evoteq, said: “We are exploring increasingly complex technology and digitally transformative solutions for businesses and society to ensure a more sustainable quality of life for people in the UAE and the wider region. Blockchain has the potential to provide more transparency on companies’ sustainability efforts as well as incentivise socially responsible behaviour. The Future Blockchain Summit presents an ideal opportunity for us to strategically assert our leadership and advancement in innovative technologies, sustainability, and blockchain, in line with the UAE’s Blockchain Strategy 2021 as well as discuss challenges and opportunities with our peers.”
At the event, HE Khaled Al Huraimel, also participated in a panel discussion, ‘The City of the Future Journey’, sharing insights into his vision for Bee’ah and Evoteq; and how the companies are using innovations like blockchain technology to build the city of the future.
Bee’ah develops impactful and disruptive technology tools and solutions for customers and collaborators to facilitate operations by increasing efficiency, supporting business growth, utilising digital innovation, and creating better customer experiences. Recently, the company collaborated with Evoteq to develop and launch Sharjah’s first ever blockchain platform, a Waste Permit Portal that validates, processes and stores transactions by customers for its partner, the Hamriyah Free Zone Authority (HFZA).
A renowned technology partner in the Middle East, Evoteq has developed revolutionary solutions for public and private entities across the UAE, and is currently working on the largest municipal digitalisation project in the GCC. One of Evoteq’s most revolutionary offerings is Smart Track, an advanced serialization and tracing system that has linked and developed new generation technology to track and trace GS1 serialized products from the point of production to the consumer.
Bee’ah and Evoteq have also pioneered other technological developments such as the UAE’s first advanced Artificial Intelligence platform, which will digitally transform offices and operations to maximise productivity, business excellence and sustainable practices. This technology will first be deployed at Bee’ah’s new headquarters, which will be one of the smartest and most sustainable buildings in the GCC.
The second annual Future Blockchain Summit took place from April 2-3 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The event drew strong attendance from the technology, corporate, industrial and government spheres as it highlighted revolutionary blockchain technologies, and explored future real-life opportunities.
