Commvault (NASDAQ: CVLT), a recognized global enterprise software leader in the management of data across cloud and on-premises environments, announced continued growth acrossthe Middle East, South Africa (SA) and Turkey (MESAT) region. The company saw extensivebusiness expansion last year, at global and regional levels, and has achieved further success through increasing numbers of customer projects and partner initiatives.
Wael Mustafa, area vice-president for MESAT at Commvault commented: “Despite the challenges of COVID-19, Commvault has witnessed continued customer engagement in 2020. We have seen an increased appetite for investment in intelligent data management systems as organizations realize the importance of protecting and managing data during this current climate.
Mustafa highlights one of the key factors for success in Commvault’s acquisition of Hedvig in 2019. “By integrating software-defined storage capabilities with industry-leading data management products, we have been able to create a new industry standard solution for both passive and active data management in the cloud – which has been very well received by organisations across all MESAT markets,” he said.
“As a result of our success, during 2020, we have hired additional staff to cover UAE and KSA and will also be hiring for new roles in the region following continued business growth in key markets including South Africa. We have built a strong business pipeline in markets such as Egypt and Turkey during this year and we look forward to more success, as the region begins to recover from the economicpressures brought by the pandemic,” added Mustafa.
Commvault already has an extensive customer community across all of these markets, including Dubai Police and Dubai Municipality in UAE, as well as leading players in regional Telco, Finance, Government and Educations sectors including Saudi Telecom Company (STC) and Jeddah University in KSA, Garanti Bank and DenizBank in Turkey as well as Blue Label Telecoms in South Africa.

Commvault protect 400 terabytes of data hosted across SAP systems, and including SQL databases, email archives and 20 virtual machines.
In addition, Commvault continues to make significant additional investments in its partner eco-system across the region, to deliver services to end users. One of the most notable developments has been the expansion of its partnership with HPE in the MESAT region. Commvault was named as 2019 Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) Technology Partner of the Year — Storage Solutions at HPE’s annual Global Partner Summit last year. The company was recognized for tightly integrating its data protection solutions across HPE’s storage and server portfolio, enabling customers to be cloud ready and to drive greater business value.
