As movement restrictions ease up and we welcome back mobility, we want you to be assured of best in class safety measures that Careem is putting into place to give you a peaceful and safe ride. These guidelines are to be followed to ensure safety for both our customers and Captains.
- Masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
To ensure the safety of everyone around us, all customers must wear face coverings or masks during their trips. We’ve mandated our Captains to do the same. Additionally, we also suggest using other PPE such as disposable gloves during our rides.
- Passenger Seating Capacity
To allow more space between you and your Captain, we are asking passengers to only sit in the back seat and limit the number of passengers riding with you, according to local laws.
- Captain Self-Certification and Cleanliness
Our Captains are trained to follow high standards of safety. Before going online they confirm that they are wearing a mask, are in good health, have disinfected their car prior to starting work and have cleaning supplies in the car. We’ve instructed our Captains to keep the car ventilated prior to trip start. This will help circulate fresh clean air into the car.
- Rating Captains on Hygiene Standards
When rating your Captain, you can now provide feedback specifically on any health and hygiene concerns you weren’t happy with. This helps us improve our services and ensures that we uphold the highest safety standards.
- Cashless and Contact-Free
We are encouraging customers to add credit/debit cards so that they can enjoy a cashless experience. Additionally, we are also encouraging customers and Captains to avoid all physical contact during the ride.
- Flexible cancellations
For a limited time we are allowing our customers to cancel a ride if the Captain is not wearing a mask, without any cancellation penalties.
