MEED’s Smart Construction Virtual Summit, a one-day virtual event held by MEED-GlobalData, will take place on December 14, 2020 and explore how advancements in AI, 3D printing, IoT and big data analytics are impacting the Middle East construction sector.

Featuring a panel of industry experts, the live event will showcase the latest research driving advances in productivity, quality, reliability, cost-savings, waste-reduction and energy efficiency. Audiences will be able to network with a high profile selection of government dignitaries, prominent investors, and stakeholders of leading infrastructure companies while expanding their understanding of smart construction.

The New Age of Smart Construction panel will assess the latest technologies and trends responsible for transforming the regional construction landscape. Speakers from ALEC, Arcadis, GHD and Heriott Watt University will discuss how organisations can use Business Information Modelling (BIM) to streamline project delivery, how businesses could benefit from making investments in smart construction technologies, and how to up-skill teams to meet the technological requirements of tomorrow.

A second panel discussion, The Offsite Revolution, will explore the competitive advantages of offsite construction, highlighting the types of projects in which modular construction presents quality, efficiency and standardisation benefits. Following this, leaders from Regional Center for Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency (RCREEE), Dubai Carbon Center of Excellence (DCCE), Abu Dhabi Energy Services (ADES) and Honeywell will speak about the ways in which smart construction can lay the foundation for a decarbonised future. The fourth and final panel will give viewers insight on building resilient, sustainable, smart cities of the future. Speakers from Arup, Knowledge Economic City, and McKinsey and Company will participate in this panel.

TED-style presentations by project pioneers along with Smart Construction Round Tables and Technical Workshops will provide a platform for open dialogue and information sharing around key topics at the heart of smart construction strategy and implementation. 

The Smart Construction Virtual Summit will take place on Monday, December 14 from 9:00AM to 4:15PM GST. The virtual summit is free to attend, but pre-registration is required here.
