Zain KSA has made significant progress in the ‘Meqyas Q2 2020’ report that measures the speed of access to digital content in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Meqyas report, issued quarterly by the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), evaluates indicators related to Internet quality and speed of various local service providers. Zain KSA has posted an improved performance across all the indicators and categories covered by the report.
Owing to its concentrated efforts, Zain KSA ranks first with the largest 5G roll out in 12 of the 13 administrative regions in the Kingdom. Its network remains the broadest across the Kingdom during the second quarter of 2020 as the company continued to expand its 5G service map, bringing the number of covered cities to 35. The 5G broadband is applauded for its high speeds and short response time, which helps transform various fields, allowing it to play a vital role in smart cities through enabling the automation of systems and transportation networks, and improving the quality of life for citizens and residents.
Zain KSA topped the list of telecom companies in the category of latency for having the lowest latency in the most popular electronic games in Saudi, ranking first in 4 out of 5 games measured by the report, including: Fortnite, FIFA20, APEX, and League of Legends.
In terms of latency for the peak video conferencing apps in the Kingdom, Zain KSA maintained the fastest service in the Zoom and Microsoft Teams apps. This proves the company’s unremitting interest and commitment to facilitating online learning, developing remote work initiatives, and supporting businesses, SMEs, and individual users throughout the pandemic.
Commenting on the results, Zain KSA’s CEO Eng. Sultan bin Abdulaziz Al-Deghaither said, “The results we achieved, emerged from our ability to anticipate and overcome challenges, embolden our resolve to continue through with our strategy of injecting new high-value investments in the sector and providing the best customer experience based on quality and speed.”
