Al Ain City Municipality and Saal, the innovative applied AI company based in Abu Dhabi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on researching and developing innovative solutions based on artificial intelligence (AI) and data analysis. The collaboration will support smart city initiatives; it comes as part of the UAE Innovation Month, and in line with Al Ain City Municipality’s commitment towards enhancing its services and operational efficiency.
The MoU aims to strengthen the cooperation between the municipality and Saal, in efforts to implement AI applications that can accelerate the city’s smart transformation and enhance the quality of life for the residents of Al Ain.
The partnership also aims to leverage the power of AI in dealing with various use-cases. The initial engagement will commence with Al Ain City’s Lab for Smart Cities and Artificial Intelligence, which will play a major role in driving the smart transformation of the city.
Al Ain City Municipality will implement data-backed decisions that can enhance the capacity planning and infrastructure planning processes, while optimizing costs and supporting sustainability efforts. Both entities will also collaborate in advancing and supporting environmental and societal initiatives.
Asmaa Alfalasi, Head of AI Lab at Al Ain City Municipality, welcomed the signing of the MoU with Saal, noting that this partnership is in line with the city’s goals towards becoming a smart city, and said: “Our role at the municipality centers on enhancing the quality of life for our residents. We focus our efforts on launching smart initiatives, starting with Al Ain City’s Lab for Smart Cities and Artificial Intelligence, which aims to promote and accelerate the smart transformation of Al Ain. Our partnership with Saal reaffirms our commitment to achieving the goals set by the wise leadership of the UAE, which calls to improve the quality of services through emerging smart technologies and partnerships between governmental and private sector entities."
