Smart Dubai launched the ‘Leadership Dashboard for Government Resources’initiative as it took part in the 40th GITEX Technology Week, taking place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on December 6-10, 2020.

The initiative seeks to develop a dashboard aggregating financial, contractual, and human-resource-related government data, which offers decision makers a holistic view of their organizations,allowing them to make informed decisions based on real-time data. This, in turn, achieves efficiency and helps saveonspending  and institutional contracting, all the while promoting sound HR practices.

His Excellency Younus Al Nasser, Assistant Director General ofSmart Dubai, CEO of the Dubai Data Establishment,asserted that the close collaboration among various government entities and joint government action were the engine behind the Dashboard’s success – particularly the Dubai Department of Finance and the Dubai Government Human Resources Department.

H.E. Al Nasser asserted that data is a powerful engine that can drive a comprehensive and effective smart transformation.“Smart Dubai has made strides in harnessing data to build innovative solutions and tools that support informed decision-making and ensure optimalinvestmentin people, which ultimately leads to the happiness and wellbeing forindividuals and drives the sustainable development of society,” H.E. said.

“Government initiatives rootedin updated and reliable data will undoubtedly help leaders make smart, informed, and pragmatic decisions,while also shedding light on the community’s real needs across various sectors,” H.E. Al Nasser added.“The ‘Leadership Dashboard for Government Resources’marks a new and important addition to the tools and solutions Smart Dubaihas designed to enhance and develop government operations, in addition to supporting leaders to perform their tasks and make the right decisions.”

For his part, H.E. Wesam Lootah noted: “As part of our mandate to lead Dubai’s sweeping digital transformation and its ambitious plan to become the world’s smartest and happiest city, the team at Smart Dubai understands the tremendous importance of developing government practices as a means to that end. This is where the ‘Leadership Dashboard for Government Resources’ comes in. The initiative plays a tremendous role in streamlining government operations and rendering advanced government services more easily and conveniently accessible to all users.”

“The Dashboard places accurate, sophisticated, and up-to-date city data at users’ fingertips, allowing leaders and decision-makers to develop sound strategies and forward-looking action plans, further cementing Dubai’s status as a world-leading smart city of the future,” H.E. Lootah added.

The Dashboard features data and a set of indicators on spending, contracting, and human resources for every government department in the Emirate of Dubai.

Furthermore, the Dashboard provides a set of sub-indexes for human and financial resources. HR indexes include data about the workforce, the rate of Emiratization, gender balance, job rotation, and training, as well as employment figures forPeople of Determination. Meanwhile, financial resourcesindexesconsist of budget indexes anddata on spending and purchases, among others.

Smart Dubai is working to promote the opening and sharing of government data, which would ultimately allow government entities to monitor activities, identify city requirements,and detect any changes in people’s needs in real time. This allows authorities to respond quickly, accurately and efficiently.
