Under the theme “UAE Health … a Shared Responsibility”, the Ministry of Health and Prevention, MoHAP, is taking part in the Arab Health 2020 which is held at the Dubai World Trade Centre, January 27 – 30.
One of these projects isa 3D-VR-powered journey into the world of laboratories with the aim of highlighting MoHAP’s laboratories network infrastructure, which is the largest one in the GCC, Middle East, and North Africa after having obtainedISO 15189 accreditation
Also, visitors to MoHAP’s platform can watch a VR video showing one of the Ministry’s accredited laboratories so that they can learn more about the latest robotic and automatic laboratory technology.
Through this journey, MoHAP aims to shed light on one of its most important health facilities, acquaint the visitors with the overall technologies and smart solutions in medical laboratories field, introduce them to the latest robotic and laboratory technologies and provide a distinct experience for visitors and those interested in a virtual sensory interaction with medical laboratory technologies, through the VR technology.
The virtual journey highlights the mechanism of work in MoHAP’s laboratories and how to handle samples including tissue-related tests such as early diagnosis of cancer, its type and grades, the distinction between benign and malignant tumors and conducting advanced tests to identify the cancer cell.
The 3D-VR-based journey also includes several virtual locations such as Hematology and Biochemistry Laboratory, Parasitology Laboratory, Immunology Department Laboratory, Tissue Pathology Laboratory, and Anatomy Laboratory.
A Sensory Simulation Environment with an Audio-Visual Experience
H.E. Dr. Youssif Al Serkal, Assistant Undersecretary for the Ministry’s Hospitals Sector, stressed the importance of employing the 3D- VR technologies in promoting the mechanism of MoHAP’s laboratories and enjoying its environment virtually, by creating a sensory simulation environment with an audio-visual experience, noting that the project provides a new and different perspective on the traditional methods of promotion.
“The new project provides visitors with a practical environment and very realistic interactions reflecting the modern virtual reality, which is an added value to the project. It is also considered one of the most successful and effective promotional means in educating society about the importance of laboratories and informing them of the latest scientific developments in the world of laboratories,” added Al Serkal.
MoHAP’s participation in the Arab Health 2020 is in line with the objectives of the UAE Centennial 2071 to build an Emirati generation that keeps pace with scientific developments in the medicine and health sciences and actively contributes to scientific research.
He further said: “Laboratories are the core of preventive medicine. Thanks to the AI-based sophisticated infrastructure and the presence of highly-skilled and professional medical staff, our medical labs at MoHAP can give you rapid and accurate results. We take pride in providing the best laboratory services and we are keen to achieve further development and prosperity in establishing scientific, safe, accurate and effective laboratories that meet the highest international standards.”
Adopting International Standards and Quality
