An innovative new mobile e-payment system is to be launched into Oman later today. The new payments platform, which will soon be available for all Android and Apple devices, offers a safe, simple, and highly secure alternative payment method to cash, cheques, credit and debit cards.
The e-payments platform will be launched at a special VIP launch ceremony tonight at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Resort in Muscat, under the auspices of His Highness Sayyid Taimur bin As’ad bin Tariq Al Said – Assistant Secretary General for Communications at the Scientific Research Council.
The new e-payment platform and mobile app, once launched and operational, is set to revolutionise the way payments can be made in Oman. It will take away the complexity of remembering multiple pins and passwords all while keeping banking information completely private and making payments simple and secure; offering a safe alternative to cash or card payments. The platform will also allow both users and retailers to schedule and automate regular bill payments. Retailers using the app also benefit from faster checkouts, minimal transaction errors, individual customer purchase records, and more. Better still, the simplified nature of the app will also provide users and retailers in Oman with the ability to carry out transactions regardless of where they are located.
