The Dubai Smart City Accelerator, powered by Startupbootcamp, invites global startups with innovative smart city solutions to apply to join its fourth cohort. Applications for the Accelerator program are open through November 10th.
The Dubai Smart City Accelerator, powered by Startupbootcamp, is now scouting for startups to join its fourth cohort. Applications are accepted globally from startups in the following industries: IoT & Smart Connectivity, Urban Automation & Mobility, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Open City Data, Sustainable Cities & Living, Smart Government, and Smart Retail.
Launched in 2017, the Dubai Smart City Accelerator (DSCA), a part of the Startupbootcamp (SBC) global network of industry-focused accelerators, is supported by seven partners: Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, du, Dubai Chamber, Smart Dubai, Visa, Orange Business Services, and RIT Dubai. These partners have joined to fund the program and provide expertise, exposure channels, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and unparalleled access to their deep Smart City network of industry professionals from around the world.
“We are looking for startups who want to engage in Dubai and the MENA region in the long-term. Our program provides unparalleled access to government and corporate partners driving forward Dubai’s vision to be the leading Smart City globally,” said Ibrahim Seksek, Managing Director of the Dubai Smart City Accelerator program. “2020 is an exciting year to be Dubai-based with global activations around business and innovation occurring in parallel with Expo 2020.”
The DSCA fourth cohort is an intensive three-month program, scheduled to run from mid-January through April 2020. The ten companies who are selected will receive the exclusive Startupbootcamp acceleration package benefits, including €15K in cash per team to cover living expenses during the program, office space in Dtec, mentorship from over 100 industry experts, consultation and advisory support, as well as access to Startupbootcamp and its partner organizations and seed funding.
Once completed, the startups will join Startupbootcamp’s global alumni network consisting of 800+ startups accelerated around the world who have raised over half a billion euros in investment. To date, DSCA has accelerated 20 startups from across the globe and is in the midst of its third cohort, selected from 1800+ applications.
“Being selected as one of the top ten teams to join the program enabled us to achieve our vision of expanding into the UAE markets. The accelerator program helped us kickstart our business by connecting us with a network of industry leaders,” says Srinath Kandala, CEO of ScaleVR Technologies, a startup that graduated from the second cohort of the Accelerator. “We look forward to continuing to scale our business in the UAE and expand within the MENA market thanks to the connections we made and the knowledge we gained from the mentors, partners, and trainers.”
Applications for the Dubai Smart City Accelerator program are now open and will close on November 10, 2019. Interested startups can apply via the portal:
