Mobile & IoT solutions provider, Workz and MTX Connect, the Luxembourg-based MVNO (Mobile Virtual Network Operator) have today announced a deal which will see them offer their subscribers network connectivity via new embedded SIM devices such as the new iPhone, Google Pixel 3 and Microsoft Surface Pro. This means that users of these devices will be able to connect to the MTX Connect network without the need for a physical SIM card. The announcement follows the completion of successful network trials using the Workz technology with a market launch scheduled for later this month.
Workz is the only manufacturer and remote SIM manager in the Middle East and Africa to be certified by the GSMA for eSIM and one of only six GSMA-accredited providers in the world for this technology. In October, the company launched a remote SIM provisioning solution for mobile network operators to provide immediate network connectivity to eSIM-enabled devices. Workz’ latest venture with MTX Connect comes weeks after the unveiling of several flagship consumer eSIM devices such as the new iPhone XS/R, the Apple Watch Series 4, and Google’s Pixel 3 which has had many analysts predicting a hyper-adoption rate for the new technology in the coming months.
Tor Malmros, co-CEO of Workz commented: “This project has been a great team effort and we expect early providers of eSIM technology such as MTX Connect to gain a real competitive advantage and tremendous growth opportunities.”
Mike Kornev, CTO of MTX Connect added: “We have been extremely pleased with the strong support Workz has provided which has allowed us to develop this cutting-edge offering in a highly efficient timeframe. As a result, we now hope to bring this enhanced experience to customers in the coming days”.
